Les Carroz : The Walking

No matter whether you are a budding Chris Bonnington or a Sunday stroller, there are masses of walks in the area to suit your fitness (or unfitness!) levels. You’ll find a variety of walks to choose from, including gentle rambles, nature trails and more challenging high-level hikes in the mountains.

From Les Carroz there are over 250 km of walking; either directly from the heart of the village or a starting from a short drive away. The indigenous wildlife you may encounter includes chamois, marmots and if you're particularly fortunate wild boar!

To make your break more enjoyable and relaxing we can help in a number of ways:-

We can drop you off and/or pick you up – so not all walks need to be round trips – you can go from point to point.

If required we can provide packed lunches.

For those who want to try longer walks and maybe stay in a mountain refuge for a night we can pre-book your bed and meal with the refuge (where possible) – the cost of your holiday would be adjusted accordingly.

Maps and guidebooks can be provided if required.

Local guides are available, English speaking if required and can add to the enjoyment of your walk though the provision of local information, both historical and on the local flora and fauna. These guides can either be booked yourself through the local Bureau de Guides or we can do it for you.
