Les Carroz : Other Activities

In the summer, Les Carroz is staggeringly beautiful. The mountain scenery, the exquisite wild flowers, rushing streams and clear, still air make for a truly wonderful holiday.

Apart from just soaking up the perfect scenery there is also plenty to do.

Apart from the pretty walks, bike trails and mountain hiking, there are caves and caverns to explore underground, the beaches of Lake Geneva and Lake Passy are close by and are perfect for sunbathing, sailing and swimming

  • Rock-Climbing Lessons available for novices
  • Horse-riding and Pony-riding Bookable by the hour or the day
  • Parapenting Either take a trial tandem flight or maybe take enrol for the week course and learn to fly solo!
  • Mountain Biking Either bring your own or hire from one of the local shops and they’ll even provide a guide if required
  • Hot Air ballooning Champagne breakfast flights
  • Canyoning For the real mad ones: jumping, sliding and swimming in mountain torrents, with a guide of course!
  • White water rafting and hydrospeeding Scary but very exciting
  • Swimming, Archery, Tennis, Badminton & Volleyball All available between July and the beginning of September at the Les Carroz sports complex – including 3 swimming pools
  • Golf The 18 hole Les Carroz course is open July-August and there are 8 others within 45 minutes drive
  • L’Aiguille du Midi Take the cable car up to 3,400m for outstanding views of the Mer de Glace
  • Montenvers Railway Rack and Pinion railway up to view the Mer de Glace, museum and the ice cave with a house carved inside!
  • Lac Passy Swimming and beach
  • Emosson Dam Stunning views over the bluest lake and look for dinosaur remains
  • Tramway de Mont Blanc The highest train in France takes you to the foot of Mont Blanc from where there are many walks to chose from
  • Samoens and Annecy Two local medieval towns to explore
  • Local Markets and Fêtes Always fun and tempting for the purchase of local delicacies. Check the local Office De Tourisme for details
